The works pictured above are by Philip Hart who runs the ceramics studio at Jam Factory Craft and Design In Adelaide (South Australia). Although a self-confessed anti-academic Phil (to his friends) has taken the Leachian doctrine by the tweed lapels by writing pertinent pieces of text from A Potters Book around the surfaces of his fluidly thrown bowls. The pieces are beautiful and function as receptacles for not only foodstuffs but also ideas (theoretically and literally).They make me smirk....and think.
