That's enough about you let's talk about me...

Hopefully this is the last piece of shameless self-promotion blogwise for a while.

If you're around in Adelaide on Saturday..

Or in Sydney next Wednesday, as an adjunct to Chris and my shows at Helen Stephens' Gallery, H.G. Nelson will be launching the artist’s monograph on Gerry Wedd (me) titled Thong Cycle, written by Mark Thomson (of 'Blokes and Sheds' fame). This is the latest monograph in the South Australian Living Artists (SALA) series published by Wakefield Press.

'Gerry works gently but fearlessly converting the prosaic and domestic into the mythic … He is a gleaner of the most eclectic kind.' – Mark Thomson

Hi Pru,
cheers.I think the book will end up in a number of small art-book shops around the place.I know it can be ordered from Wakefield Press in Adelaide and costs $45 or thereabouts.

I was taken with your underside decorated vehicle at the Jam . There was something weirdly visceral and intimate about it.

Hi Gerry,
It's not just in small art-bookshops. I just saw it in Paperchain, the main bookstore in Canberra's inner south (near Parliament House). I'm going to review it on 666ABC tomorrow morning.
Best,
Chris Wallace

PS I finally made it to art school myself - I'm third year printmaking at ANU.
