StefanSzonyi's small figurative sculptures were welcome relief in 1980's ceramics in Australia. Like American artist Jack Earl there is a lack of cleverness and pretension in these works.The origins are high court European, (Meissen even) while the subject matter is undeniably colloquial. He seems to have fallen off the radar. I wonder what he's up to?
