"Recent imagery has concentrated on native plants as well as those found in remnant early colonial gardens - fruits that were planted by early settlers such as figs, pears and flowers that were grown for more aesthetic purposes. An unfolding leaf or flower seems very indicative of our struggle to live purposely in this world, and the various stages of a plant's development provides an unending source of delight and consideration."
