Too much fun !I can't get off the thing even when the conditions are so wrong.It's untouchable in sub-waist high waves in terms of speed and drive.Obviously not that maneuverable compared to 'shortboards' (rail to rail transition is slowed down). A similar feel to a mini-simmons.Flat out fastest I've ever gone in marginal waves.
Yeah, the short'n'wide setup has been a lifesaver for sure, especially here in LA where marginal waves are the norm. My very old 5'5" is still the board I ride most, and I look at boards like that and realize horizons could be broadened......
